My son is off to a birthday party today. Here is the card I made...

Card: So saffron, chocolate chip, kraft & very vanilla, chocolate chip & so saffron DSP and notenook DSP

Ink: Chocolate chip

Accessories: Brads, wide grosgrain ribbon

These colours were difinitely a challenge for me. It took me lots of trial and error to come up with something. Not sure I am happy with the end result, but I was running out of time.

I have been suffering from a bit of a creative dry spell. But, I always look forward to Kristina's Colour Inspiration Challenge. The colours this week are:

Bushfire Appeal...

Being Australian, it seems that bushfires are a very natural occurance in our summer months. But we are being told by the authorities that some of these recent fires were deliberately lit. I totally don't understand how anyone could do this, especially on one of the hottest day ever recorded.

Everyone has rallied to support those people whoes lives have been devastated by these fires. including Stampin' Up!. They are offering the following special:

From 12 February through 31 March 2009, Stampin’ Up! will donate 50 percent of the retail value of all sales from a select group of 10 stamp sets to the Australian Red Cross Victorian Bushfires 2009 Appeal.

From Healsville ...

Well, as you are probably aware, we have had the most horrific weekend here in Victoria (Austrlia). Our fair state has been ravaged by bushfires. Lives have been lost and towns have been destroyed. Fortunately or unfortunately, my husband and myself (& a group of good friends) went away for the weekend to (of all places) Healsville. We were going for a concert by Simply Red (and other artists) at one of the wineries just near Healsville.

We were very fortunate that the fires did not come through Healsville while we were there, BUT they came very close, as you can see by these pictures:

All of these pictures were taken from just outside our room.

These fires are still raging through country Victoria and my heart goes out to all those people afftected.

I hope you all don't mind me sharing this with you.

Sorry, no cupcakes today. Just another owl. Not sure about this card??? I love the stamp set, I love the paper & the colour combo. Just not happy with the way it turned out (never mind, I am posting it anyway LOL!).
